For civics, yesterday, topic on Racial Harmony was covered. Since the class is divided into groups according to races, i felt that it kinda relevent to us. There are 5 cliques altogether. Chinese girls Gp1. Chinese girls Grp2. Indian Girls. Chinese boys. And the malay girls plus Sang. (Yeah, ur probably wondering y sang extra right, thats becoz she claims that she is a Eurasian. Confused.)

So anyway, i realised that it is not abt being racist. Sometimes our actions can bring wrong messages to others. Its just that so happen that we have more common interest that we are always together.Becoz there are sooo many things to bitch abt. Like if i bitch abt this guy from Anugerah Screen to a chinese friend, she'd probably just smile at you becos she just has not idea what crap am i talking abt. SO i need somone who'd give be a better reaction and that obviously gotta be a malay in my class.

Personally, i am not racist. My bf is a non malay and i get along well with other races tooo. In class me and sang we are pretty close. I think becoz we are both lame so we can relate with each other. And we can tahan each others lame jokes. Me find it comfortable talking to Grace, Renuka, Shanti too. All the hockey mates in JJ are non malay except for me and Nurul but i still find them fun to talk and joke with. So to sum it up, its not abt the race here. Its abt the character. Some ppl u just can get along and some u can just crap with them for hours. For example, even if a person is a malay, and i cant relate to the stuff she's talking abt, different frequency or the character just sucks, most probably i would not be close to her either. That is showed clearly in sch. I just cant imagine myself lepaking with some malay ppl in the sch.

ANd human being just like to make generalization. For example, i always hear ppl say that chinese students dont bathe in the morning when i know that there are some of the ppl i know do bathe. Just becoz u dont like a malay becoz he cheat on you, you cant say that all malays are bad what. So this is an unfair statement. But it is sad that this usually happen. And some actions are so typical. Even if statistic has shown that the early marriage and divorce rate is increasing for the malays, we cannot say that all malays are problematic. This is obviously generalization. I know it is abit out of point here, but let me just rant. Stop making generalization. Like saying "Malays are stupid. Malays are lazy" so there are no chinese or indians or other races who are stupid lazy? Whatever, use ur brain. Dont just say without thinking becoz it just show ur immaturity. Right.

And i know that there are many racist ppl out there. Come on, whats the use of looking at each others differences. And discrimination against race shouldnt even exist especially against the minority. There are more ppl getting married to ppl of different race for example one of our ministers, Mr vivian balakrishnan, so what im trying to say that, there are no excuse that u cant get along with a person because of the difference in colour. Afterall, we're singaporean. (chey, ard one month to National Day la dey) haha.

So we are gg to sit at random, mixing the different races together in class for a week to show that we have nothing against the other races. Haha. We take this serious. yea.

And u'd probably wondering, what am i doing here on a Wednesday morning right? Hah, i overslept. The weather is so great. Yay! Gonna go sch for the public talk tho. Its something abt scientifc fact behind the Tsunami which happened in 2004.
